Name: Thé Royal Ceylan

Company: Monoprix

Type: Black, bagged

Cost: unknown

I do apologize for doing a review on a tea that is not available in the states that I’m aware of. But seeing as this is a blog about my tea journey, I figure it is acceptable. I did spend time trying to find out more about the company and the tea but I’m afraid I came up with nothing.

This tea was given to me by my dad who travels often oversees. He has gotten in the habit of always bringing me back chocolate and has now added tea as well. The 1st time he went to Paris he brought back a box of Thé Royal Ceylan. A simple black ceylon tea bag. He also brought back some other kinds that I will review later.

This is the tea that really opened up the area of black teas to me. For the most part, black teas always appealed to me the least of all the different types of tea. I associated them with the yucky iced tea I had tried in my younger years. But seeing as this particular tea was a present to me, I wanted to try it. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not detest the taste and I actually enjoyed it!

I brew this using boiling water and let it steep for 4 minutes. To me it has a nice tea taste that is neither too strong or bitter. Perhaps those qualities would come out if I steeped it longer, but I refuse to do so.

I don’t have a whole lot to say other than it is a light, tasty ceylon tea that I do enjoy. I have almost gone through a box of it and when my dad returned to Paris not long ago he brought me back not 1 but 4 more boxes of this!! I don’t know how in the world I will be able to go through 4 boxes but I do appreciate the gift very much since I really like this tea!

The product(s) included in this post were given to my as a gift by family or friends.
