Tazo Passion Tea

Name: Passion Tea
Company: Tazo
Type: Herbal, bagged iced and regular
Cost: $9.90
A student of mine found out about my love for tea when she and her mom helped me unpack my kitchen after a recent move. The next day she brought me a couple bags of Passion Tea from Tazo. Passion Tea “is a mix of luscious hibiscus flowers, lemongrass, mango and passion fruit essences” according to the Starbucks website. I don’t particularly like the Tazo website so I am avoiding it. However the 1st two links at the top will take you there. Good luck.
Passion Tea is an herbal infusion with an extremely strong taste. I happened to have a gift card to Starbucks lying around and so I went and bought myself a box of it. I didn’t notice until I got home that I had picked up a box of their Iced Tea Bags. No big deal. I’ve been drinking it iced which is fine in our hot weather. I like it for the most part though sometimes it can be a little too tart for my tongue when it is cold. Makes me pucker at times. It doesn’t taste bad at all, but I have to be in the mood to drink it cold. Sometimes I find it incredibly refreshing and other times my lips gather into a purse when I take a sip .
I really like it hot as well and need to get some of the regular tea bags to have on hand for evenings I don’t want to have caffeine. Normally I would stay away from teas that have lemongrass in them because I seem to have an allergic reaction to it which results in a lack of breathing. However, there must not be a lot in this blend since I have not had an issue with it. I didn’t look at the ingredients when I bought it so I honestly didn’t know that there was lemongrass in this blend until I wrote this review. Go me.
