Tea on Location
This past weekend I had the chance to go to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and stay in my parent’s motorhome. The balloon fiesta is a yearly event where balloonists from all over the world come fly their balloons in a week long event. We went to a balloon glow Friday night and then got up at the crack of dawn the next morning for the mass ascension where 500+ balloons take off from the field. It is really an amazing event that I’m blessed to see every year.
This year staying in a motorhome made it really easy to have my morning tea. We didn’t go down to the field for the mass ascension because we had great seats right outside the motorhome and there was no need to go fight the INSANE amount of people. Attendance this year for a weekend event was estimated at 80,000 just to give you an idea. My dad delivered breakfast burritos to us (he had to be down on the field) and my mom and I bundled ourselves up in layers of sweaters and coats to sit out in the 32F degree weather and watch the balloons with tea in hand. We had a great time and I’ve included just a few pictures. Sadly though, my camera batteries died before all the balloons were in the air. I hate my camera.
